Towards a Long Trip Management Strategy for Electric Vehicles with Uncertain Traveling Conditions
Résumé
In this paper, the development of trip management strategies for electric vehicles (EVs) during long journeys is presented. The task of defining an effective traveling plan over a fixed route is formulated as an Optimal Control Problem aiming at minimizing the trade-off between energy usage and trip duration, where the vehicle speed and the recharged energy are taken as control variables. The resulting multi-objective problem is solved using an algorithm based on Dynamic Programming and the role of uncertainty in the planning information is incorporated by means of a stochastic and a robust strategy. Finally, the performance of these strategies is evaluated against a benchmark solution in a case study.
